New to Substack

Lemme introduce myself!

So let me confess that I have no idea what I'm doing here, but if you know ME, I'm going to try almost everything at least once. I am a lover of writing, journaling and all forms of creative expression and started to get Substack emails from colleagues who I know and trust, so I did my research and here I am attempting to do some brand development on this side.

I've written on Medium for a while, which I quite like, and figured why not give Substack a try. Follow me as I forge my path in this new space.

In other news, I'm sitting in a Starbucks and this is the first I've written in months. I'm also quite annoyed because the cashier/manager royally pissed me off. So know that you are a part of my current creative outlet to decompress after our heated debate about the correct price of my order. So I thank you for being here with me because today you all are my therapists.

If you're meeting me for the first time, you now know I like good customer service and don't appreciate it when people are rude to me. I'm also a Jamaican Reggae-Soul Singer/Songwriter and Medical Doctor. I've lived in Jamaica all my life, except for the 5 years I lived in the USA (broken by visits home) to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, then did my Option Practical Training (OPT) as an international student in New York.

I hope to share with you the things I know well, aka medicine, the entertainment industry and other gems on my quest to becoming the best ME. I love Oprah like my second mother and I'm a bit of a self-help/motivational content nerd. Steven Barlett might as well be my brother and Paulo Coelho's Alchemist my life mantra. If you have no idea what I'm talking about then maybe this isn't where you'll want to hang out, but if you do, it's gonna be a fun hodgepodge of Jamaica, inspiration, education, entertainment and some random.
